Gab has over a decade of experience working with many different kinds of synthesizers and many different kinds of sound synthesis, ranging from the classic subtractive synthesis found on most analog synths, to Frequency Modulation (FM) synthesis made famous by the Yamaha DX7, and to more niche offerings like wavetable synthesis. Check out what Gab can offer below:

  • Preset programming/multisampling: Gab can program new presets (from scratch!) for your synthesizer, synth plug-ins, virtual instruments, effect plug-ins, etc. This can include the creation of multisamples if your instrument is sample-based. He can explore new sounds and textures, or emulate classic patches.

  • Live synth work: Gab can recreate the weird sounds in your music to play on stage. Yes, even if they were made with a hundred different plug-ins in Ableton!

  • Studio synth work and sound design: Gab can come to you (or you can come to Gab!) to record synth tracks and sounds on your songs or project. Whether it’s straightforward tasks like laying down pads, adding sub bass lines and doubling melodies, or total sonic exploration to reach outer space, Gab’s got you covered. This service is also offered remotely if meeting in person is not possible.

Analog Superabundance - Vital presets

In the summer and fall of 2024, Gab Lavoie created and released a preset bank of 40 custom presets and 40 custom wavetables for the Vital wavetable synthesizer.

Waves Audio - StudioVerse Instruments

In the fall of 2023, Gab Lavoie worked with Waves Audio to contribute 160 preset chains to StudioVerse Instruments, their virtual instrument plugin chainer. These presets were included with the launch of the plugin in June 2024.
